I was 12ish when my long suffering mum and bonus dad Hans took me to the archipelago in the region of Norrtälje north of Stockholm, Sweden. It was a good trip with sunny hot days packed with water skiing and catching fish for dinner.
Herring and perch – the baltic Sea is literally jam packed with the stuff. My pal Carolina and I went fishing. We must have pulled one fish a minute that summers day. Towards the end we didn’t even bother putting any bate on the hook – they went for it anyway. Herrings with a death wish. It’s an actual thing apparently.
Ting and Joel’s wedding was on a scorching hot summers day. At the beautiful Marholmen not far from the jetty Carolina & and pulled the most self destructive fish in the Baltic Sea about a million years ago.
They also got married on a jetty. This is where the similarities to my fishing story ends.
Anyway. I’m glad I’ve got to revisit the area. Ting and Joel’s day was such a joy to shoot. A throughly relaxed and familiar affair to the sound of the soothing voice and piano play of Anna Landström. Loved it!
