So, this was meant to be an entertaining blog post about how I ended up getting chased off a wet field by a dog, somewhere on the outskirts of Rome on a random Tuesday morning. In the company of a pregnant lady.
I’ll spare you the details, suffice to say it revolved around taking a chance location-wise off the back of an ill-advised, birthday Prosecco session the evening before. I wouldn’t want to detract from the efforts of long suffering colleague and friend, the bad ass Therese Winberg – who smiled bravely despite her really wet and painfully freezing feet. She even let me have a second go on a scabby Rome hotel terrace after we defrosted from the field. What a trooper she is. Me too in fairness. The hangover was pretty mean.
The reason for being in Rome in the first place was the annual Way up North (a conference for photographers in the wedding industry). So other than badly planned shoots, I was having my socks blown off by speakers such as Tuija Seipell, Jose Villa & Niki Boon to mention a few.
Way up North is such a grand way to begin or end a wedding season. Not just for the inspirational speakers – being able to connect with people who share a peculiar love of giving up our weekends for endless hours on the tools is pretty damn good to start the season.
